BY BICYCLE
Along the campground is the old "narrow gauge" where 30 years ago the train was running from the coast in the west to the coast in the east. Today it is a bike path that goes around part of the lake Åsnen and is perfect for a nice bikeride or walk!
You drive along the lake shores for most of the trip. Some of the trip on the west side of Åsnen you drive on the "narrow gauge" and part of the trip on the east side of Åsnen runs one the small cozy roads. The road over Sirkön is special with its beech forests and orchards. |

DESCRIPTION

There are a few marked cycle routes around Lake Åsnen.
* “Fjordrundan” is about 22 km and goes up north of Åsnen. You ride on the small roads and have the opportunity to turn into the woods one part of the road. A well deserved break you can take at Huseby Bruk, which has a small café and which is also a tourist attraction. Link to Huseby Bruk >> * “Åsnen runt”is a somewhat longer route. All around the lake it is approximately 65 km. Off course one can shorten the route and ride along the "narrow gauge" one way and then take the nice little roads back! There is a nice little café in Ålshult, Ålshult Handelsbod, after about 15 km. Link to Ålshult Café >> So remember to bring your bike or rent one of ours (simple standard). |
